Our Story
Some boutiques are born out of business plans. Ours was born out of a shared love between two sisters — a love for fashion, for travel, and for the kind of clothing that makes a woman feel completely, unapologetically herself.
Since 2004, Sense of Independence Boutique has been a fixture in Toronto, Canada. What started as a dream between sisters Naomi and Michelle has grown into one of the city's most beloved independent boutiques — a place where every piece on the rack has a story, and every customer who walks through the door becomes part of ours.
Two Sisters, One Vision
Growing up, Naomi and Michelle shared more than a bedroom — they shared a curiosity about fashion and an instinct for style. That sisterly bond is woven into everything we do at Sense of Independence Boutique. We finish each other's sentences, disagree on some trends, and always agree on what matters most: bringing our customers something they will feel good wearing and love.
What drives us? Honestly, it's you. It's the customer who comes in looking for something special for a milestone moment. It's the woman who's been shopping with us since the beginning and trusts us to evolve with her. It's the joy of watching someone try on a piece and light up because it fits her perfectly and she feels confident.
